CSFF Blog Tour - Austin Boyd's The Return

With nothing left for him on Earth, Rear Admiral John Wells didn't hesitate to lead a third NASA team to Mars, but he never dreamed that one day they'd look out their laboratory module into the lights of a slow-moving vehicle not their own. In the third installment of the Mars Hill Classified series, life on Mars becomes increasingly more unpredictable as the past collides with the future, and nothing, not even the dead, is as it seems...
(back cover of The Return)

Well - unfortunately, I only just received my copy of The Return. I'm afraid that one week has not been long enough for me to finish or even get into this book. I'm going to post anyway and hopefully bring some interesting information to you all.

Be sure to check out Austin Boyd's website as well, to find out a little more about the man behind the Mars Hill Classified series, published by NavPress.

Amy

You'll have to dive into my books. The hero is really a heroine... Amy Wells. What a great name! I had you in mind when I wrote the trilogy.

Seriously, while it's Admiral John Wells who gets all the attention in the book, you'll all find that it's really his stalwart wife, Amy, who holds the world (his world and hers) together while he's galavanting off to Mars.

Amy shows that heroism often comes in quiet confident, dogged determination, and deep dependence on Christ. Happy reading. It's all about Amy!

I'll be looking forward to your review when you finish reading it.

And yes, Amy is a big part of the story, no doubt. I like the fact that "Return" has more than one connotation.

I haven't read any of his books yet. I like Dragons in our Midsts, The Door Within, and DragonKnight.

Thanks for coming by Austin and Becky! I'm really excited to dive into the series.

Dragonrider - I'm a pretty big Door Within fan too. Have you read all 3? You should check out the author's blog: http://enterthedoorwithin.blogspot.com.

Amy--

I know what you mean. I only got mine a few days ago. I was glad I had taught speed reading in my youth.

I hope you get a chance to read it. Even though, I disagreed with some of the assumptions of the book, I found it an interesting read.

I do think that Amy Wells probably is the best developed character in the story.
