Eight Random Facts About Me

Here are the rules to anyone who gets tagged:

1. Post the rules of the game.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

My 8 Facts:

1. I love to scrapbook, though rarely do it as often as I'd like.

2. I tend to spout off relatively meaningless facts about random subjects at any point. If someone mentions water, I'll go into the fact that "80% of Americans walk around dehydrated and don't know it..." blah - blah - blah... You get the picture.

3. The biggest reason for not liking certain foods seems to be that I don't like the texture rather than the actual taste. Prime example - avocado. Eeewww...

4. I write everything on Post-Its. I am a list-maker from way back and my new canvas of choice has been Post-Its. I write To Do lists and grocery lists, as well as lists of items to pack for a trip, etc.

5. I've never ventured outside the continental United States. How bad is this: I lived in San Diego, yet never made it to TJ right across the border and have lived for 12 years now in Washington state and have yet to make it across the Canadian border not 4 hours from here.

6. I was a dancer for 13 years and my professional career was about to begin at age 16 with a touring company called the Young Americans when I injured my knee and God clearly showed me that my life was going to turn out vastly different than I had imagined. Even though my dancing days ended and thus many of my lifelong dreams, I learned about God's will and thank him everyday for NOT letting my dreams come true.

7. Umm - I can't stand movies that are drama or romantic in nature. I love action/adventure and comedy. I live plenty of drama and romance in my real life, so what's the point in finding escapism in a movie that mirrors real life?

8. Okay - last one, think random... When I was little I used to swim a lot and could hold my breath for a really long time. I would sit on the bottom of the public pool (about 13 feet deep) and suck water in and out of my mouth hoping to somehow develop the ability to extract oxygen from the water, thus teaching myself how to breath under water.

*Okay folks, that's it.*

I don't have many blog-buddies and I know that two of them have already been tagged, so as soon as I find more, I'll tag them.

EDIT: I've tagged EverlastingScribe over at Scribe Scrawlings.

Amy, I love av...how do you spell that again-oh yea...avocado-love it. It needs a bit of garlic and salt mixed up in it, though. Yum!

It is a very weird texture, though :)

I have always made lists too! But I never follow them *sigh*

If you do make it to Canada, come visit (in the summer, of course. Then we can go to the beach :)

Dancing? Wow. That's been a dream of mine. Can't do it all, though.

I so hate drama and anything that makes me cry needlessly. There is no need to rehash life on screen. I want entertainment here! Give me fantasy! *grin*

I did number 8 too-except I couldn't get myself to sink. I blamed it all on a bubbly personality :) I think I could hold my breath for a minute and a half. I know it's not much, but to a ten year old-that's too cool for words.

Feel free to visit my blogger buddies (Craver, Mark,Deborah and LL). They are super friendly and funny and always have the welcome mat out.

I also thought you might like Writer....Interrupted It's a blog for writers who are parent and who are Christians.

Wow Eve! We're too much alike - it's hilarious!

I'll definitely make it to Canada soon, but probably not all the way to your neck of the woods. I'd love to go snowboarding at Whistler. I love to snowboard and it's supposed to be one of the best mountains around. My hubby wants to take me to Vancouver, BC to the Buchard (spelling?) Butterfly Gardens.

I love fantasy movies too! I guess I lump it into my action/adventure category.

LOL - a bubbly personality indeed! I might have to steal that one.

I'll definitely be checking out your friends' and the other site soon. Thanks!

I'll just do it here...

Eight Random Facts About Me

1. I love baskets. Mother's Day is the day I take this love of baskets out on my poor, unsuspecting mother. But I always pack lots of chocolate in them for her. She has lots. Of baskets, I mean.

2. I've gotten speeding tickets in every state in the Southern U.S. Oh yeah.

3. I've been in the same 10- to 20-foot radius as the following celebrities (not necessarily at the same time): Jon Stewart, J.K. Rowling, Stephen King, John Irving, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathy Bates, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Fred Thompson, Uma Thurman, Cybil Shepard. I think there are more, but those are the most exciting :)

4. I don't like sushi, but I REALLY don't like the people who find this information incredulous and try to make me realize through repetitive suggestion that I DO like it.

5. I had 16 baby teeth (a whole extra set) removed when I was 6. I pulled the stitches out myself a little over a week later.

6. When I was 3, I remember sitting on a smooth, gray rock-cliff next to a clear stream and waterfall. My mom called for me to follow her back down the rock toward the shore to go home, but I went the opposite direction (on purpose), walked off the rock, dropped a few feet off the edge into the water, and sunk to the bottom just before my mom pulled me out. She remembers it slightly differently, but the major facts are all the same. I went the other way, and underwater.

7. Until just recently, anything the color of Campbell's Chicken Soup, especially Mardi Gras beads, made me nauseous to look at.

8. I could eat homemade macaroni and cheese all day. Especially if I had an automatically refilling glass of cold milk.

Yay Sara!

I love it! The facts are definitely random. LOL! You were a little independant thing weren't you?

And eww about ripping out the stitches yourself at 6. My little girl pulled out every single loose tooth she's had up to this point, so I can kind of relate.

I hate sushi too and actually anything that has ever resided in the ocean or any body of water is out for me. I won't budge on it either.

Homemade mac-n-cheese sounds so yummy right now. I like the refilling cold glass of milk idea too.

Very cool to learn a few new things about you.
